Raising the Roof

Here we are 1 month away from our due date. The baby is now considered term and could come any time from now until January. There is a mad rush to finish the major portion of the addition, especially the roof.  Here is my little fiddler working really hard. I am so proud of him! He has done a great job.

OH Boy! A baby shower!

Wow! We have been really blessed for this baby. I was so fortunate to have 2 baby showers! The ladies from Tripler Army Medical Center and my dear friend Bonnie from Kaiser Permanente threw me the most wonderful showers. We received fabulous gifts from everyone and cant wait to use them. We are so grateful for every ones generosity. I cant help but feel like this is a lucky baby with all the love, support and thoughtfulness we have received. We cant wait to meet him! We are  registered at Amazon.com because they have the best deals and free shipping to Hawaii.

A new addition just in time for our new addition

Its been a busy couple of months. We are already 35 weeks pregnant which is 1 week shy of 9 months. The pregnancy has gone so fast. We are hoping this little guy comes close to his due date in order to finish our huge construction projects. Brett has been working overtime in order to finish our addition in time for the little one. We are adding a fabulous master bathroom and a dreamy walk in closet to our home. This will also increase the size of the master bedroom which will also get a a real drywall ceiling with can lights. Our house square footage will increase from 780sq ft to about 950sq ft which to us feels ginormous. I even get a bathtub! Right now the addition has its walls up and plumber Bob has been ruffing in the plumbing. The roofing is to be started next week which is helpful during rainy season. All in all both additions are coming along and progressing well.

OK so this is not our house...This was the house of a former sultan from Turkey from our trip to the Mediterranean last year. This years trip will be the leap to into parenthood, what a drastic difference!

Buddah Belly

Well, we are now 26 weeks along  (6.5 month's) and so far so good. I am extremely grateful for the clean bill of health for the baby especially seeing sick and premature babies at work on a daily basis. I cant even fathom having a baby as early as 23 weeks which is what is now considered viable by medical standards. Yikes! According to the baby books, the baby should be about 2lbs the size of an eggplant. It has been fun watching the belly grow week by week. Starting at 18 weeks I had sever back pain, but that didn't come to me as a surprise as I have a long history of back issues. The doctors allowed for a spinal epidural of cortisone which seems to have done the trick for now. I am still doing yoga, ( I can still do a head stand) and also leisurely playing volleyball on Sundays. We have an ultra sound in a few weeks so we will be sure to update.

Captain Ron

Brett and I have been sailing a lot lately on our boat we share with one of our friends.Brett loves the idea of captain Ron and would like nothing better than to someday live on a boat and sail around the world. It has been an fun and exciting new hobby for us, and we are finally getting the hand of it. At this point we are fair weather sailors and love to go for a sunset cruise right in front of Waikiki. Recently we have been setting out for a sail every Friday evening then grilling and watching fireworks right from the dock! It has been a lot of fun. I personally enjoy anchoring the boat and jumping in when the water is calm. Last Friday we took a large crew out for a sail and even attempted to catch dinner which ended up with the fishing line caught on the prop and no fish dinner. On a lucky day we have seen spinner dolphins, sea turtles, and whales during whale season which is coming up. We have also been planning on how we are going to take our little one sailing. Apparently they make baby life vest which I plan on purchasing soon.

A Mini Brett!

Brett and I had another ultra sound today, and its official ITS A BOY! We are very excited. The baby was standing on his head and there was no question that we are having a boy. He also seemed to have Brett's characteristic big feet and long arms. He was camera shy today and wouldn't show us his face but he certainly had a cute bum.

Our Little avacado

Here is our update for our little one. According to the Internet our baby is the size of an avocado and moving into the the size of an onion. I personally thought an avocado was bigger, but who am I to judge the size comparison to fruit. Speaking of avocados our little avocado tree is very fruitful this year. Lets make some guacamole....Does anybody have an good secret recipes?

Also this week the highly anticipated ultrasound to determine pink or blue...More to come.

A few weeks ago.My parents sent Brett and I a box of baby clothes. Our first born fur baby did not let us forget that he was in charge and not to be forgotten by perching on the clothes day and night until they were washed and put away. Thanks for the clothes! we sure hope that its a boy with all the boy clothes we received.

New and improved itchen

Brett has been working really hard on the house and has finished our new kitchen. We are really excited to move out of the 50s' and into the present. We hardly recognize our vintage cottage anymore.

Bretts Birthday

On June 7th we celebrated a birthday weekend for Brett. It was a relaxing getaway to the beautiful Big Island. We did some snorkeling and sight seeing around the island. One picture is the new smoke plume from recent eruptions. The other picture is of the beautiful Akaka falls.

wiggles and jiggles inside

Hello all,

Sorry it has been so long since our last posting. It has been 6 weeks and a lot has changed. We were saddened by the loss of one twin at  eight weeks and now rejoicing that we have one health baby at 12 weeks. Everything seems to be coming along fine. The baby is about the size of a peach. Our little peach appears to be a Boy based on a ver early ultra sound looking at the hip bones. We shall see in 5 more weeks. There is still a chance the tech could be wrong. Never the less we are ver excited and love to watch our little one wiggle and jiggle

BTW Brett spilled Beer on the computer and I am unable to use a few letters :)

the 500 lb gorilla in the room

Hello all...well it is unofficially official that we are expecting. A bit premature to let the cat out of the bag but since the meowmix is out...we are 6.5 weeks pregers with double the trouble. Two sweet pea sized sweetpeas with two very tiny little hearts pitter pattering away. We are by no means out of the woods yet and are waiting for a second ultrasound to make sure things are progressing as they should. We will keep you posted.
